How to take the test

Start a run, wait through the neutral state, and respond only when the game arena shows the green signal. Pointer, Space, and Enter all work, so you can use the input method that feels natural on your device. If you act early, the round is labeled too soon and ignored. Because it is not a valid result, that same round resets and the run continues.

The test cancels an active wait if the tab becomes hidden because browser timing can be paused or delayed in the background. Results are stored locally in your browser so a later attempt on the same device can be compared without an account.

Scoring method

Your main score is the median of five valid reaction times, measured withperformance.now(). Human Arena also displays the mean, fastest, slowest, and all five round values. Lower milliseconds are better for this test.

Why results vary

Display refresh rate, mouse or keyboard latency, touch hardware, power mode, and system load can move your score. Treat the result as an entertainment and general-information measurement, not as a medical, diagnostic, neurological, or IQ assessment.

Reaction time FAQ

Why does the test use five rounds?

One click can be lucky or distracted. Five valid rounds give the median a better chance to represent your usual response on this device.

What happens if I click too early?

The round is marked too soon and does not count. You can retry that same round without losing one of the five valid attempts.

Are results comparable across devices?

Not perfectly. Screen refresh rate, input hardware, browser work, and touch latency can all shift the measured time.
