Human Arena is a free, account-free collection of short browser challenges for reflex, precision, memory, perception, and focus. It turns five very different performances into one readable local profile—without pretending a game can define a person.
01 · THE PROJECT
Human Arena began with a simple idea: the most useful browser tests do not need accounts, elaborate profiles, or mysterious scoring. They need a clear task, a fair explanation, and enough repetition to help a player recognize a pattern.
The project brings five original challenge implementations into one coherent arena. Reflex and precision are measured in time; memory, perception, and focus are measured by progress. Every test can stand alone, while the complete set forms a broader five-part Human Score.
The first product goal is intentionally focused: deliver an enjoyable, fast-loading English-language experience that works without a backend. The architecture leaves room for more challenges, carefully localized editions, and verified competition later—only when each addition earns its complexity.
02 · FIVE CHALLENGES
Each challenge has one primary metric, a short learning curve, repeatable rules, and a result that can be understood without a manual.
Respond to the signal across five valid rounds. The median, rather than one lucky click, becomes the result.
Median milliseconds02Hit thirty moving targets and see how quickly deliberate pointer movement turns into consistent accuracy.
Average ms per target03Watch a pattern grow one tile at a time, then reproduce the full sequence in the correct order.
Highest completed level04Remember briefly revealed grid positions, find them after they hide, and protect your three lives.
Completed levels05Hold an increasingly long digit string in mind, then reproduce every character after it disappears.

05 · PRODUCT PRINCIPLES
No download, sign-up, onboarding flow, or paywall stands between the player and the first challenge.
Every challenge explains its rules, scoring method, and the device conditions that can move a result.
The current site has no account database. Recent results are kept in localStorage on the player’s device.
Human Arena is a game and self-comparison tool—not an IQ test, brain-age score, or medical assessment.
06 · TECHNOLOGY
The current product is a static Astro application. That keeps the public experience fast, indexable, inexpensive to operate, and easy to understand.
Playable on modern desktop and mobile browsers with keyboard, pointer, touch, and reduced-motion support.
Content ships as static HTML while each challenge loads only the small amount of client logic it needs.
The visual system uses custom properties and system fonts, without a client-side UI framework.
Up to thirty recent results per challenge are saved locally and can be cleared from the Privacy page.
The production build generates crawlable pages, metadata, canonical URLs, a sitemap, and a custom 404.
07 · PROJECT STATUS
The public site already contains the complete five-challenge local experience. The roadmap separates shipped product from ideas that still require validation.
