How to take the test
Start 32 scored rounds directly. Respond only to the center arrow and ignore the surrounding arrows. Use the left / right buttons or arrow keys.
If you press before the center arrow appears, that trial counts as incorrect and the next trial follows. If you do not respond in time, it counts as a miss. Results stay on this device.
Scoring method
The main scores are your accuracy and median response time, measured withperformance.now(), reported separately for congruent and incongruent trials. Human Arena also reports an interference-cost difference (incongruent minus congruent median time) as an explanatory metric only.
Why results vary
Attention, fatigue, distraction, screen refresh rate, input hardware, and browser work can all shift a result. Treat the number as an entertainment and general-information measurement, not a medical, diagnostic, neurological, or IQ assessment.
What this game challenges
Attention Test measures selective attention and inhibitory control: how well you respond to a target while ignoring nearby, conflicting information. It is a focused-attention task, not a measure of intelligence or overall ability.
Congruent versus incongruent
On congruent trials the surrounding arrows point the same way as the center, so the correct response is easy to see. On incongruent trials they point the opposite way and compete for your attention. Most people are slightly slower and less accurate on incongruent trials.
What this result does not mean
This is a game result, not an IQ score or diagnosis. Read the scoring methods and measurement limits.
